A Timelessly Classic Engagement Session in South Carolina

After Jordan introduced himself to Alisha at a party, the two kept in touch and built a friendship while they were both attending Gerogia State University. It was not until a few years after graduation that the pair decided to give love a try.  Alisha then made the decision to relocate from Atlanta, Georgia to Columbia, SC so that distance would not keep them apart. After dating for two years, Jordan asked for her hand in marriage on January 19, 2019. Check out their gorgeous engagement session captured by Reem Photography

Engagement story:

It was MLK weekend, and Jordan told Alisha they were going to Atlanta for the perfect date weekend.  They would catch a Hawks game and more!  Alisha’s best friend is an event curator and was hosting a brunch that same weekend so she was excited for the chance to also catch up with her friends and have a fun getaway.

While at the hotel after getting ready for the brunch, Alisha was franticly checking emails on her phone as they headed downstairs.  She had just listed her first house a day or two before and received an offer, and totally missed that Jordan pressed the wrong floor on the elevator! As they stepped out onto the conference level, Jordan expressed his love for her and proposed.

Alisha spotted a photographer there and could not believe her eyes when she realized it was her little sister!  Alisha says, “I literally cried the entire car ride as we headed to the brunch. When I walked in I was surprised by all of my friends! The brunch was for US.  It was an Engagement Brunch. I could not believe it!! One of my besties even flew in from Los Angeles to be there. It was one of the best days of my life. I was completely surprised!”

For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day.

I knew the pictures would be something we would have for years to come. It was important to properly capture the moment. Alisha and I love going out and dressing up, so for the photoshoot we wanted it to reflect that! I thought it would be a good idea to do the engagement shoot in Columbia, SC because this is where we were going to build our life and future together.

What makes your love special?

We have a good understanding of each other. Jordan and I were friends for many years before we officially dated. That friendship created an unbreakable bond and foundation for us to grow. It’s easier to focus solely on loving each other when your foundation is solid!

What was the theme of your shoot?

We honestly did not have a theme. We just knew we wanted timeless photos; something less trendy and more classic. We wanted to be able to look at the pictures years later and still be in awe.

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?

THE HEAT! It was so incredibly hot that day. It was probably close to 100 degrees in South Carolina. By the time we got to the second location we were almost drenched! Reem was a trooper and through it all we still had a really good time.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

The ceremony! I am marrying the love of my life!! It really is a special feeling to know that you are going to be bonded with someone forever. It is almost indescribable. I can’t wait to see his face as I come down the aisle..and to join together as one in front of God and all of our loved ones.

Have you started planning your wedding?

We actually had our entire wedding planned! We were about 7 days out from our big day and had to cancel due to Covid-19 and the CDC Social Distancing Guidelines. We were really disappointed at first, but it felt like the right thing to do. We are looking forward to re-planning the entire wedding. Now there is just more time to make it bigger and better! It’s kind of cool that we get to plan our dream wedding TWICE!

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you a fruitful marriage and many years of wedded bliss.
