Morgan and Kyle met in January 2016 at the University of Miami. Kyle was attending law school there and Morgan was an undergrad. One night, Kyle invited her and her line sisters to meet him for drinks since he really wanted to meet her. Although she almost didn’t show up, Morgan made it out and Kyle seized the opportunity by getting her number that night! Engagement story
I took her to one of our favorite steakhouses in Atlanta to buy time for her sister and brother-in-law to create a special entrance for when we returned to my home. At first she didn’t want to leave the house, then she didn’t want too stay long!. We eventually ordered our entrees to go, and headed back to her place. When we got in the garage I rushed inside to first get a lay of the land. They had created a beautiful, candle-lit entrance that surpassed all of my expectations. She walked in, I got down on one knee, and thankfully she said yes!
For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day
I had planned a lavish proposal at Chateau Elan with all of our friends to surprise her and a celebratory brunch the next day. Unfortunately, I contracted Covid-19 a couple days before the proposal was planned for and I was forced to quarantine for a couple weeks. While I was in quarantine all I could think about was how badly I wanted to propose to her. The day I tested negative and was officially cleared to stop quarantining I worked with her sister and brother-in-law to get her out the house so they could set up a surprise for when she got back. Even though it’s not what I initially planned, this version felt right in the sense that it was much more intimate with just the two of us in a comfortable space.
What makes your love special?
Our love is special because through it and each other we grew in our faith and walk with God. Our love gives us a glimpse of the love God has for us. It is pure and patient; and it is comforting and kind. We have been able to witness each other’s successes and failures and love each other more for it. And we know that this is only the beginning.
What was the theme of your shoot?
Hot and sophisticated because we are bringing the heat to Cali next year!
Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?
The entire shoot was memorable! It’s always fun to be able to get dressed up and have fun with each other.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
Being able to celebrate with the people closest to us. We decided to plan a small wedding in California so that we can truly celebrate our moment together, intimately. But we are also excited for our big reception back in Atlanta with family and friends!
