Growing up in Southeast Houston, Mary Rios learned her way around the events industry from a young age, shadowing friends and family and volunteering at various expos and special events through the years. Her innate skillset only strengthened during her time at The University of San Antonio, where she learned the foundations of customer service working at the Westin La Cantera.

Upon graduating, Rios furthered her hospitality knowledge during the grand opening of Hotel ZaZa Museum District in Houston, before starting her own boutique event planning firm, Mary Rios Events, in 2009. Following a 15-year career in the Houston market, Rios joined the  Le Meridien Houston Downtown in January 2023 as the director of weddings, bringing her expertise and high-level service to the hotel’s wedding planning and corporate social events.
