Engagement story

Darius proposed during the Falcon’s home opener football game! As a cheerleader, I was doing my second quarter dance when suddenly, I turned around to find him on one knee, mid-dance. Then from the crowd, popped out my family from Florida, our best friends from out of state, and our other additional support systems. After minutes of shock and crying, I said yes. Confetti was queued and we were congratulated by Freddie the Falcon himself.

For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day

This was the wildest day ever! I had been coordinating planning with family, friends and staff with the Atlanta Falcons for a little over a month and ALL of the emotions were running all at once! I was happy to see that all of the details around the plans came together and that we were able to capture our moment just as it was planned! As the big moment approached, so many friends, family and even fans gathered around in support and took pictures and videos of the moment I went down on one knee and I even gain some new social media friends in the process!

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?

Smiling through freezing weather on top of a heli-pad in the heart of downtown Atlanta was by far one of the best experiences during this engagement season. Although we were met with extremely chilling weather, the view was absolutely breathtaking and worth every freezing moment. The pictures and video edits turned out to be really dynamic and can’t wait to share as we get closer to our big day!

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
Our family, friends, co-workers and church family have been incredibly supportive and encouraging throughout this journey. One thing that we are looking forward to most is celebrating with everyone, enjoying some delicious food, and dancing the night away.
