Whitney and Jarvis met on the dating app, Hinge in 2024. From the beginning, being together felt easy for them. They shared more about their relationship, “We genuinely liked spending time with each other, whether we were traveling, trying somewhere new, laughing about something ridiculous, or doing absolutely nothing.”
After two years of getting to know each other more, the couple decided to tie the knot at the court house in a very intimate ceremony with just the two of them. They then decided to have a photo shoot with LaJoy Photography showcasing their love and capturing this moment in time.

What inspired your decision to elope?
I’ve always been a free spirit, and I never really pictured myself having a traditional wedding. It just wasn’t my style. I still wanted the day to feel beautiful and intentional, but I didn’t want the experience of getting married to become months of planning, stress, or trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. Eloping felt more personal and more like us.
Was there a specific moment during your elopement that felt the most significant to
you both?
There wasn’t one single moment that stood out more than anything else. What I remember most is how calm the entire day felt. I had hoped that choosing a smaller, simpler wedding would let us actually be present, and that’s exactly what happened. Even taking our photos felt relaxed and natural, which was exactly what we wanted.
What is one piece of advice you would give to other couples who are on the fence
about eloping?
Do what actually makes sense for the two of you. If a big wedding is something you genuinely want, that’s great. But if it isn’t, don’t feel like you have to plan one simply because it’s what people normally do. Eloping gave us more freedom—less stress, fewer expectations, and the ability to put our time and money toward the things that mattered most to us, including our honeymoon and the life we were building together. A wedding can still feel beautiful, intentional, and special without being a huge production.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
