Chelsea and Ricky’s story began in high school, when a mutual friend introduced them. In the heart of Houston, Chelsea and Ricky hosted a wedding that seamlessly blended modern luxury with romantic elegance. Designed with intentionality and layered with deeply personal details, their black-tie celebration was a masterclass in timeless style. Briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how the both of you felt on your big day.

As a creative in the events industry, Chelsea approached wedding planning with a curated, editorial eye. “I wanted it to feel like stepping into a celebration where every detail whispered elegance,” she shares. The couple leaned into a timeless black-and-white palette with layered textures and sleek, modern touches. Inspired by old-world luxury reimagined with a contemporary twist, the design aesthetic featured sculptural florals, architectural silhouettes, and elevated simplicity at every turn.

The wedding was held at The Luminaire in Montgomery, Texas—a venue chosen for its architectural beauty and luxurious natural surroundings. “We wanted a space that didn’t need to be transformed, but enhanced,” Chelsea explains. The venue’s clean lines, floor-to-ceiling windows, and organic elegance served as the perfect canvas for their vision.

Wedding song, and the significance of the song: Our wedding song was “II Hands II Heaven” by Beyonce. It’s been a song that captures how we feel about each other. It’s not only about the journey of a love story, but also brought that feeling of “finally, we made it” to our first dance. It’s also timeless, soulful, and romantic—everything we wanted our first dance to feel like.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We’re looking forward to building a life that feels just as good on the inside as it looks on the outside—one rooted in intentional joy. Most of all, we’re excited to raise our son (and now daughter as well!) in a household full of love, laughter, and legacy.
