From Mrs. to Mommy: Must-Haves For New Mommies

Being a new mother has come with its own set of challenges and joy. Luckily for me, I had a carefully picked out list of baby products before the birth of my son. Here I’ll be sharing the must-have items that have made my journey to motherhood a stress-free one. We’re talking everything from a stylish diaper bag, car seat, stroller, and more!

1. SNOO Smart Sleeper by Happiest Baby

When I brought Graysen home from the hospital, I was nervous because I didn’t know if Casey and I would be able to put Graysen to sleep. When we were at the hospital, the nurses were there to help us swaddle Graysen, which helped him sleep. Casey and I didn’t master the swaddle game, so we didn’t know what to expect. Thank God for the SNOO! When it was time to put Graysen down, we placed him in the SNOO Smart Sleeper, which is a special swaddle that comes with the SNOO. It has soft inner bands that make it super easy to wrap him up snugly. It’s made from organic cotton and has two mesh panels to allow for airflow, which prevents overheating and lets us see that his hips were safely positioned. Casey and I are in awe everytime as the SNOO plays white noise and uses gentle motions to rock him to sleep.

This multifunctional item was created by Dr. Harvey Karp, the author of the Happiest Baby on the Block, who designed the SNOO to imitate the same sensation babies experience when they’re in the womb. This soothing environment allows them to sleep even longer. Which means parents aren’t deprived because they can rest as well! The SNOO has sensors that pick up your baby’s cry and then responds by changing the intensity of the motion and white noise. And, you can control the levels of sounds and motion from afar on an app that tracks your baby’s sleep as well.

SNOO is a safe baby bed because it keeps your baby neatly swaddled on their back all night long. The SNOO is pricey but being a first-time mom, getting those extra minutes of sleep makes it worth the price. If it’s not within your budget, you can also add it to your baby registry as a potential group gift from your loved ones. Trust me, if you choose to invest in a SNOO, you will not regret it!

2. PIPA lite lx by Nuna

Bringing Graysen home from the hospital was a breeze, thanks to the Nuna PIPA lite lx. I’ve always had my eye on the PIPA lite lx because of it’s sleek, stylish and functional design. I also love how lightweight it is at 5.7 pounds. The base is included which makes it easy to install. I knew that Graysen would be in good hands with the Nuna brand, but I was reassured when the officer who did our car seat inspection had nothing but great things to say about the PIPA lite lx.

The fabric is soft and luxurious since it’s made from Aeroflex foam, which helps to minimize force by absorbing and diffusing energy. One of my favorite features is the dream drape. It blocks out elements like the sun, wind, and even strangers who can’t resist the urge to touch your newborn. The PIPA lite lx also seamlessly attaches to the Nuna DEMI grow stroller, so you’ll be sure to get paid tons of compliments with this dynamic duo. I love the Nuna brand, so once Graysen grows out of the PIPA lite lx infant car seat, I will definitely get the Nuna RAVA convertible car seat.

3. DEMI grow by Nuna

The Nuna DEMI grow stroller is perfect if you plan on growing your family because this stroller grows with you. It’s easy to convert this stroller into a double. There are 23 different configurations to choose from and it works with other Nuna accessories like the DEMI grow bassinet, so you can choose what works for you and your family. The DEMI grow is easy to assemble. Casey assembled ours fairly quickly.

Remaining true to the Nuna brand, the stroller is lightweight and made with gorgeous fabrics! I remember when I used the stroller for the first time, I couldn’t believe how lightweight and how easy it was to push! It offers a dual suspension, so you’re guaranteed a smooth ride. Just like the PIPA lite lx, the DEMI grow has a dream drape to protect your little one from the elements. I love how the Nuna PIPA lite lx car seat attaches easily onto the stroller with the included adapter. You can’t go wrong with the Nuna brand. The hubby and I are happy with this stroller.

4. Deluxe+ Dock by DockATot

When I first heard of the DockATot, I absolutely loved the name and thought it was clever. For that very reason, I was intrigued. When I saw the price tag, I honestly thought that this was not necessary; especially since its price point is on the higher end. After doing some research, I found that the DockATot Deluxe+ is the ultimate multifunctional lounger for co-sleeping, and playtime. Meaning your baby can sleep, lounge, play and do tummy time in it.

I use my DockATot Deluxe+ for all of those reasons. It’s also made from a natural 100% cotton fabric that’s been tested for breathability and is OEKO-TEX certified. The DockATot Deluxe+ come in many different colors and patterns to match your decor or lifestyle! Even though the DockATot is on the pricey side, all the benefits make this lounger worth the splurge!

5. The Fresco by bloom

The Fresco high chair is absolutely beautiful! It doesn’t look like your typical high chair with its chic and sleek design. This chair can be used in three positions: full lay-flat newborn cradle, semi-recline and upright seating. I’m currently using The Fresco in the cradle position to hold Graysen when I’m cooking or when we’re eating dinner.

This chair is truly a life-saver. You’re able to adjust the height and it turns at a 360-degree rotation, so Graysen doesn’t miss a thing! The Fresco is suitable for newborns while also being comfortable and available in a ton of color combinations, so you can choose the one you love to fit your lifestyle.

6. Classic Diaper Bag by Freshly Picked

I have always been a fan of this brand! I love the sleek and stylish design of this diaper bag. I also love how this doesn’t look like your average diaper bag! This bag is super spacious and can fit everything you need for your baby when you
‘re on-the-go!

It’s easy to clean and you can wear it three different ways: shoulder purse, crossbody or backpack. Another reason why I like this bag is due to me being sort of a germaphobe, so I absolutely appreciate how there are metal feet on the bottom to ensure your bag never touches the floor! I have this diaper bag in the color Stone, it comes in a number of great colors such as olive and burgundy for the fall!

7. Shopping Cart Hammock by Binxy Baby

I had to make a Target run the other week and this made my shopping trip stress-free. The Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock allowed me to shop with Graysen in tow since it rests in the cart. So you’re able to shop hands-free with your baby safely tucked away.

I love how my baby doesn’t have to touch the icky shopping carts that riddled with germs. The great thing about the Binxy Hammock is that it fits in most standard shopping carts and supports babies up to 50 pounds, which means it’ll last you a while as your baby grows big and strong!
