An Enchanted Engagement Session at the Miami Secret Gardens

Sade and Cedrick met through social media in 2018, after Cedrick direct messaged Sade with eye emojis on Instagram! After messaging back and forth for a few weeks, they met for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. At the time, they had both just moved to the same part of Dallas. Sade and Cedrick remained good friends until making it official in 2020. The couple have grown together since then, including welcoming their baby boy, Cedrick III, in June 2021 and making a move to Miami, FL for Cedrick’s NFL career.

Engagement story

In August of this year, Cedrick had a pre-season game in Houston, TX so we came up with a plan to get all our family from Dallas to Houston to see the game. We planned a dinner the day before at our favorite restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant, Cedrick convinced me he only got a private room at the restaurant so our son could run around as he pleased since we had to do a later dinner. We had an amazing dinner with both our families who we hadn’t seen in months. When it was time for the check, they brought out the special plate asking for me to marry him. Before I knew it, he was on one knee while trying to get my attention because I was jumping up and down yelling yes already. We spent the rest of the evening with champagne and excitement while rushing back to the hotel to make it in time for his curfew since he had a game the next day.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

We have family scattered across the U.S., so having an event for everybody to join together and celebrate is so exciting. We are using our destination wedding as an excuse for one big family vacation, but also getting to witness family making use of the open bar and making DJ song requests.
