Elegant chic meets modern décor in this stunning styled shoot with a unique color palette of emerald green, black, gold and white. Set in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, at the beautiful Storehouse 408 this shoot lends inspiration for the future bride looking for a non-traditional twist!
Wedding Planner, Style & Elegance Wedding and Events along with Co-stylist and Stationer, Liz Kotsamanes Designs and a talented team of vendors collaborated to bring their vision for this shoot to life:
“We, as collective artists, felt that BIPOC couples were underrepresented both locally, and nationally. As a group, we agreed it was not only important to represent couples visually, but behind the scenes as well. Many of the professionals that worked on this particular shoot also identify as BIPOC. Highlighting their skills and talents was a priority when conceptualizing this editorial.
Our theme was ‘Emerald Elegance’ and was inspired by the lushness of a green, black, gold and white color palette. We wanted to capture something less traditional, so we opted for a rich, emerald green gown, with minimal touches of white.”

This very special shoot took place in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, at the beautiful Storehouse 408.
Our biggest source of inspiration was from an image taken during a BLM protest. It featured a Black couple on their wedding day, celebrating with a crowd of protesters. Such a beautiful, and powerful moment inspired us to showcase couples of color, who are not proportionally represented in mainstream wedding publications. We felt this was especially important to show diversity at a local level as well.
Color combinations: Emerald green, black, gold and white
Favorite detail: Our favorite detail is hard to narrow down, but the show-stopping green dress was a special moment for us all!
Tablescapes were adorned with a velvet emerald green linen, velvet napkins and a black velvet runner
Subtle peach and orange ranunculus, white black-eyed anemones, white roses and hydrangeas combined with trailing green amaranthus, salal and italian ruscus were all beautifully arranged in a gold pedestal vase. The floral centerpiece was accented by single blooms in vases and brass candle holders with emerald green tapers.
Elegant black dinner plates were placed between a gold-rimmed marble charger and salad plate. Emerald green agate slices with guest names in a gold font acted as place cards to complete the table setting.
In order to carry the majestic and opulent theme throughout, our stationer created a custom suite combining green, white and gold leaf detailing with a “W” emblem for the last name.
An elegant black wax seal imprinted with a floral motif sealed the invitation.
The acrylic table number was placed on a vintage gold easel while the decadent menu hung from a metallic gold frame, adorned with florals. The acrylic welcome sign florals and gold frame incorporated elements from the table stationery to create a cohesive design.

We had the pleasure of having a live painter present to capture our enchanting couple in all their loveliness. An added surprise was that the artist, Emily Paints Events, created a custom art piece that perfectly complemented the style of décor.
What wedding would not be complete without a nice set of wheels? In keeping with our color palette, Platinum Limo Services Inc provided a sleek green jaguar for our car-enthusiast groom, Altan.
