What makes your love special?

Our love is special because we have experienced many trails that most married couples have not experienced. For us the meaning of for better, or worse, for richer, for poor in sickness and health takes on a completely deeper level of intimacy in our love story. From $20 dollar dates to helping each other pay for college out of pocket and working full time. We guess you can say that this relationship was configured with a solid foundation for working together as a unit from the start.

Engagement story:

It was after Christmas, the waterfront and palm trees at Baldwin Park in Orlando still had Christmas décor up. The most memorable moment for both of us is the conversation that took place walking into the proposal. Corwin had asked Jenina what type of wedding she wanted. Jenina responded by replying, “I don’t know how to answer that question since I am a girlfriend and not a fiancé. Talk about an instant full circle moment because within two minutes Corwin was down on one knee asking her to marry him.

From the Bride: (briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how you felt on your big day)

Most weddings are stressful, but African weddings take the cake. In our case, it was a blend of two African families and an African American side of the family. My bridesmaids really made that moment special for me. It was truly incredible to experience and feel. The moment they said, “We now present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Guobadia” and I was able to look out in the crowd it really hit me that God never misses on His promises. The grace He asks in us will always lead into him granting us our hearts desires on his time.

From the Groom: (briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how you felt on your big day)

When they say this moment goes fast, it really does go by fast. We had a two-day wedding, so for me I left like everything was all happening so fast and I needed to have small moments to take everything in for all of the hard work that went into planning it. I have been calling Jenina my wife for a long time, so now I am just happy it is officially on paper.

Your best/most memorable moment:

Saying, 'I DO' to each other.

Wedding song, explain choice for song:

Sauti Sol featuring India Arie “My Everything”. The lyrics to this song were straight forward for us. “ Heavy is your crown… And still you hold me down… I hope I never let you down my love”.

Favorite wedding detail (favors, cake, food, band, etc.):

This is extremely hard for us. We loved the décor, we loved the weather since it was a beautiful clear blue sky day with no clouds in sight. The cake was amazing, favors were from hand fans from Tanzania, DJ Fadel was amazing, fireworks had everyone in all smiles. Too many details to just pick one.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Starting our family.

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Get a wedding planner the moment you pick the date for your wedding.  Our wedding planner Alexia was sent to us by God himself and having her by our side the entire journey was so rewarding.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish them many years of wedded bliss!
