Tis the season to celebrate love and marriage. With wedding season in full bloom, it's no surprise that many couples who were married during the season, are now celebrating their wedding anniversary. There's nothing like a sweet inspirational story of how love wins after-all. We love stories where couples didn't start out on a romantic note, however later through the years they are reunited, and it turns into love and marriage. How I met my husband!
Now that I think about it, I believe my marriage was indeed orchestrated by God! I've known my husband Chris since I was about 14 years old. We went to the same church until I was 18, then I went off to college in Atlanta, GA. When we were young, I never looked at him in a romantic way, I guess I wasn't into boys at that time. One day during a church service, I will never forget a lady came up to us and prophesied that "he/ Chris" was my husband. Now, telling that to 14/15 year old teenagers that never even dated, totally freaked us out!
So, life happened and we both went on to college, experienced life and in 2000, I moved back to New York to care for my ailing Grandmother. During that time I got a job and began dating. One day I saw an old friend from the church Chris and I attended so long ago, her name was Tanya. Anyway, I hadn't seen her in years but on this day, I recognized her amongst a million people on the a crowded NYC train. We connected and she said hey, I'm still in touch with Chris and his family, we should all meet up for lunch one day. I said sure, why not. Now, this is where the story gets a little blurred and divided. Chris says my version is a lie, but it's not, lol! While at lunch, his sister begins to tell me how much he's always liked me since we were kids but I never paid him any attention. I was shocked because he never approached me in that way when we were young, until his sister said, why do you think he came around whenever you were in the group? I thought, I assumed, he just wanted to hang out with his sister and her friends… Duh!
"To make a long story short, I believe God truly blessed and reconnected me with a true friend, soul mate and what has become the love of my life. When I think back I remember, I was about to take a different train that day. But, I'm so thankful to God to have been on that train to bump into an old friend that reconnected me to my future. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!"
