Real Engagements {Florida}: Diana & Johnathan! –

Diana and Johnathan met on Halloween in 2010.  They were both at a party in downtown Fort Lauderdale dressed in costumes, Diana as a sailor and Johnathan, as the wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage. Some of Diana’s friends were taking pictures with a mutual friend of Johnathan's and that's when he saw Diana standing alone.  Johnathan recalls wishing he could take a picture with Diana and her friends. "Instead of just thinking it in my head, I blurted out that I wanted to take a picture with the beautiful black women, which I did," said Johnathan.  Diana and Johnathan hit it off immediately and started talking. Johnathan seized the moment and asked Diana for her number. The two had their first date a week later and have been together ever since. Engagement story ( from the Groom-to-Be):

Diana just graduated from RN school and I rented a hotel on South Beach for the night as a present.  We spent the day walking and eating along south beach.  Later that night, we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. Afterwards, we stopped back at the hotel to drop off some leftovers.  As we were in the hotel, Diana wanted to take a few photos in her dress.  After two or three, I said that it looked like she was missing something in the photos.  That is when I pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me.  She ensued to lose her mind and run around the entire hotel room and collapse on the floor.  I had to pick her up put her on the bed get on one knee and ask her again.  That is when she calmed down enough to say yes.

What makes your love special?

The way we communicate whether making each other laugh, talking about our futures, encouraging each other to strive to be our best or even talking things out when one of us is mad at the other.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

Obviously, just saying “I do” and making it official, but also then partying the night away with each other and the people who love us.

Congrats to Diana and Johnathan! We wish you a wonderful wedding and marriage!
