Real Engagements {Miami}: Jordanna & Johnathon! –

Jordanna and Johnathon met in 2007 while they were both attending the University of West Georgia. Jordanna was starting her freshman year, while Jonathon was already in his second year when the two college co-eds met on campus. It wasn't long before they became fast friends and officially started dating in 2010. Jordanna recalls falling in love with Jonathon while she was joining the sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. He was already a member of Omega Psi Phi, Inc. and supported her throughout her process. "Through his friendship I fell in love with his kind and giving spirit," said Jordanna. The couple is planning a South Beach night club themed wedding in March. Check out their fun and flirty engagement session submitted by Liz & Lex Events, captured by Memories N Focus Photography.

Bride: Jordanna R Christie, 24, Regional Manager Cross Country Home Services

Groom: Johnathon B. Williams, 25 Academic Advisor, Keiser University

Place of residence: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Engagement Shoot Location: South Pointe Beach, Miami, FL

Wedding date: 3/16/14

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?

The champagne picture was hilarious because Johnathon was so focused on making it fizz enough for the camera to catch it and I was just scared to get it on my dress. But it came out great.

Engagement story (from the bride-to-be):

After college we moved to South Florida for a job I accepted. My parents were coming down to visit for Thanksgiving and we decided to do a cruise as something different. During the formal dining night I noticed he had this weird backpack which totally did not go with the attire for the evening. Once we sat down I noticed my mom had tears in her eyes but to be honest I was more focused on the bread since I was starving from snorkeling. Next thing I know the lights in the dinner room got dimmer and I felt like all the eyes in the room were on me. I turned to ask Johnathon what was going on and he handed me a scrapbook. At first I was like what is this? He then told me he thought we should scrapbook our pictures from the cruise. I smiled and shrugged it off like yeah great idea and went to hand the book back to him when my mom yelled “Open it, I want to see the first page.” At this point I was completely confused but I opened the book and on the first page were letters that  spelled out “Will You Marry Me?” From that point on everything was muted to me but I looked over to Johnathon in shock and he was on one knee with a ring in his hand. I am not quite sure what he said but I screamed out “YES”  before he could even finish and proceeded to grab the ring and place it on my own finger!!!! Till this day we all still laugh about it, but it was truly one of the most sweet and thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me, and it is such a reflection of who he is as a person and why I love him so much.

What makes your love special?

Our love is special because it is not perfect. Being with Johnathon is like being with myself because he is a part of who I am. We argue, and we get on each others nerves, but we genuinely see each other as a best friend and person to seek out for peace of mind and support.

What was the theme for your engagement shoot?

The overall theme was love. Our photographers were super creative and added playful things like champagne, and game pieces which allowed Johnathon and I to just have fun with it and be ourselves.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

I am most looking forward to tell the person I love so much just how much he really means to me before God and our family and friends.

Congratulations to you both! We wish you a wonderful wedding day and marriage!
