A sunny South Beach vacation turned into a chance at romance for Teaira and Khalid, who met through a mutual friend while they were both on vacation in 2011. Khalid was visiting Miami for a bachelor party weekend, while Teaira was there for a spring break girlfriends getaway. Destiny brought them together and a little over two years later the two love birds are planning an "Elegant and Sexy" wedding celebration at the Douglas Entrance in Coral Gables, FL. Khalid proposed to Teaira on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in New York, NY. The lovely couple took a trip to New York to celebrate their two-year anniversary. During their trip Khalid suggested a horse and carriage ride in Central Park. The day couldn't have been more gorgeous, given the fact that it had rained the day before while they were out sightseeing. The driver was a great storyteller and tour guide. He noticed that Teaira was into capturing the moment with her camera. So the driver insisted that he should take them to see this beautiful antique fountain in the park. Once the driver pulled in front of the fountain for the couple to get out and take pictures, Khalid dropped down on one knee and asked for Teaira's hand in marriage. She was shocked, emotional, and elated…but most importantly she said YES!
What makes your love special?
Our love is special because we are completely opposite; yet we fit together like to puzzle pieces. It’s like what one lacks the other one makes up for.
What was the theme for your engagement shoot?
The theme of the engagement shoot was young, fun, and in the sun! Just kidding, we wanted to do a sexy scene with the sushi, but also get some casual park and beach shots with us just being ourselves. Our main objective was to exude the Miami life with the sun and pretty palm trees.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
We are looking forward to just giving our closest friends and family the experience of a lifetime. We also cannot wait until we first lay eyes on each other before the bride walks down the aisle.
