Some of us are lucky enough to meet our soul-mates even before we are old enough to understand what that means. Annette and Alfredo first met in their early teens when they both would tag along with their older sisters, who were really good friends. Annette recalls that Alfredo barely spoke to her and she didn't have the courage to initiate a conversation outside of "I like your hat." However, years later when their older sisters reunited on MySpace, they had matchmaking on their minds for their two younger siblings. After Annette and Alfredo's first meeting as adults, the sparks were undeniable and their once awkward relationship blossomed into a full blown romance. I was sitting with my laptop one day looking at this website for a cruise line that does weddings on board when the ship is docked, because we heard about this a week or so before. So he gets off his computer and comes around and asked me what I was doing. Of course I scroll down so he doesn’t see what I was researching. Then I figured what the heck and I got a little bold and let him see my computer screen. He started asking questions and wanted me to look at what schedule they have and suggested we should do it in February. So when we settled on a time, we laid in bed and I said, “so does that mean we’re engaged?” And he said yes and we high fived each other. Later, once he got "The Ring" he got down on bended knee and asked me to marry him and I said yes!
What makes your love special?
We are truly blessed with each other. He is not only a wonderful man to me but a wonderful father, Dad, parent and example of a companion for the kids.
Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?
Our photographer Flor from Branham Perceptions Photography was so great. She put us at ease from our first meeting and the shoot was no different. We had such a great time at one point we had to try to stop laughing.
