Real Weddings {Atlanta}: Keiwana & Kyle! –

Keiwana and Kyle, first met in 2004 while Keiwana was a freshman in college. Kyle's brother was one of Keiwana's best friends and when Kyle came to visit his brother he would see her.  However, it wasn't until Kyle's brother's 21st birthday in 2007, where the two were able to connect one-on-one. The two began dating a few short months after they reconnected at the party  and have been together for almost 7 years. Check out their "Modern Luxe," themed wedding at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Their special day was captured by one of our favorites Nadia D Photography!

Bride: Keiwana Elaine McGaw, 27, Accountant

Groom: Kyle Montique Pettis, 32, Sales

Place of residence: Grovetown, Georgia

Wedding date: 06/22/13

Honeymoon Destination: Aruba

Engagement story:

Kyle and I went to NYC supposedly for his birthday celebration. We were walking around the city for a while and he had tickets for us to go to the top of the Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock), we had a great view of the entire city and we were just having a normal conversation. After about 30 minutes of us being there he began to tell me how much he loved me and how special I was to him. He then got on one knee and proposed to me as we were overlooking the city. And of course I said Yes!

From the Bride:

The wedding experience was definitely a little hectic. As a bride I wanted everything to be perfect. It was an experience that I will never forget. I’ve never felt as beautiful as I did on that day. The best part of the wedding experience for me was that I didn’t think it was possible for me to love Kyle more than I already did. During our ceremony it hit me that I loved him even more.

Your best/most memorable moment:

The best and most memorable was when we said our vows to each other. They meant so much to each of us and completely made our day special

From the Groom:

Everything surrounding the wedding was sensational and it turned out to be an epic event. I really enjoyed all the festivities included in our big day. Seeing the bride for the first time is a memory that I will always have and cherish along with our first kiss as a married couple.

What makes your love special?

From Keiwana: Our love is special because we accept each other for whom we both are completely and we love each other unconditionally.

From Kyle: What makes our love special is the unique dynamic that we’ve developed over the course of our relationship.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

I am most looking forward to being able to share a life with my best friend and growing together in life and in love.

Wedding song:

"Beautiful Surprise," by India Arie. This song was perfect for us because our relationship and love for each other was such a beautiful surprise for both of us. The lyrics of the song fit us perfectly

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Once the wedding day rolls around, promise yourself that you will embrace, savor, and soak in every moment of that day. Don’t get caught up in minute things like timing, decorations, last minute details, etc. Just be happy not stressed!

Congratulations to newlyweds Keiwana and Kyle! We wish you many more years of wedded bliss!
