Lindsay and Donovan met in college at Bowie State University in 2010. "We were both tutors for the school, and during a lunch break we ended up in an empty break room together," recalled Lindsay. "While in deep conversation, Donovan bit into a fried chicken wing and squirted grease across the table and into my face. I pretended it didn’t happen, after seeing the horror on his face. Somehow he got the courage to still ask me out." Check out their special day captured by Shoot Happens Photography!

Engagement story:
The night before we went on a moonlight monument tour, and he was acting pretty suspicious. I had an inkling something would happen soon (and I saw a large box in his pocket). The next morning he brought me breakfast and a bouquet of white roses, can someone say suspicious. As we were headed to his sister’s house warming, he took an alternate route going the opposite way. I asked him if he knew where he was going, and he ignored me lol. Once we got on 197 my suspicion level rose from high to extreme. He pulled up on Bowie's Campus and walked me towards the computer science building where we met. He got on one knee in front of the tutoring center and talked about this full circle moment, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I said YES!
From the Groom:
The best way to describe our wedding experience would be fun. From my groomsmen keeping me loose before the wedding, having a little fun with the photographers during our shots, to seeing my beautiful bride during the ceremony and reception, it was a perfect day.
From the Bride:
I had a BLAST! Being with my new husband and my family and friends while we laughed, danced, and cried, is something I’ll never forget. The wedding was supposed to end at 11, but people didn’t get off the dance floor until midnight. That kind of describes the entire night. Still, to this day, whenever I see our beautiful wedding pictures I relive the night!
What makes your love special?
We are best friends before anything else.
Most memorable moment:
From the wedding: When we saw each other as I walked down the aisle. I’ve never felt so happy.
Favorite wedding detail:
The ceremony décor, it felt ethereal. Honorable mention, the DJ was “lit”.
Wedding song:
“Make me whole” by Amel Larrieux. Emotionally we complete something in each other that we didn’t know existed before we met. This song describes that perfectly.
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Continuing to laugh, grow, and share milestones together.
