Get in touch with your #BlackGirlMagic while this witchy styled shoot casts a spell on you this Halloween season. This rustic session was captured at the Sekrit Theatre in Austin, Texas, which features a near-perfect backdrop for this sultry and dark themed shoot. We love the old greenhouse, row house, and the weathered bricks that helped to bring warmth and life to this stylized shoot. And of course, we can’t ignore the chemistry between the enchanting couple whose moments were immortalized by Diana Ascarrunz Photography.
Rogue Wedding Co, a Georgia-based wedding planning and design company that has a knack for putting together alternative themed style shoots, collaborated with a handful of vendors to bring out the sorcerer’s spark. Here is what Shaun Delgado-Harris of Rogue Wedding Co had to say about working on this fantasy Halloween wedding styled shoot:
“I love that Wicca is having a moment in popular culture again, so for this shoot, Kelsey Harrison of Oh Happy Day Booth and I wanted to highlight the bold and moody glamour of twenty-first-century witches.
Diana Ascarrunz captured the desired aesthetic perfectly and Lizbeth Mejorado transformed the already stunning Marqita Wolber into a bewitching Beyonce. The stars certainly aligned for this shoot.”
Shoot location: Sekrit Theater, Austin, Texas
Shoot theme: Moody Witch and Woo
Color combinations: Black, Plum & Periwinkle
Favorite detail: The bouquet and adorned trellis.
For our centerpieces, we used eucalyptus, hydrangeas, and thistle.
“We didn’t want to be too on-the-nose, so when styling, I layered in the witchy elements with a crystal in Drew’s boutonniere; pheasant feathers in Marqita’s bouquet; sage burning; and a bar cart equipped with mounted butterflies, various crystals, and candles.” – Stylist and florist Shaun Delgado-Harris
