Every time we drove past the zoo in Philadelphia, I would tell him that I’ve never been on a hot air balloon and can’t wait to go! We typically go on vacation every December, and in 2016, we took a trip to Florida for the New Year. He told me that he would give me my Christmas present once we arrived. I assumed it was an adventure (ATV riding or site-seeing), as we love to go on explorations while on vacation. We went to a field in the middle of nowhere, and it was a hot air balloon ride! When we got up to 1,000 feet above the ground, he asked me to marry him and I said YES!
For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day.
Would it rain? Would the sun shine? These were just a few of the millions of questions running through my mind. I was more nervous than I have ever been before. I contacted the hot air balloon company months prior to the big day, but there was still no guarantee that we would go up in the air that day, because of the weather. I was worried that I would be so nervous that I’d drop the ring out of the hot air balloon. Thankfully all went well, and the plan was executed without a hiccup!
What makes your love special?
We consistently push each other to be the best versions of ourselves. We are also each other’s biggest cheerleader.
What was the theme of your shoot?
The theme of our engagement shoot was royalty. First, we went to a hideaway pond in our town and took photos near waterfalls. Then, we went to our local arboretum and took photos in my gown and his suit, amongst the beautiful flower beds.
Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?
Our most memorable moment during the shoot was walking around the pond, and getting lost while searching for our photographers.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
We are both looking forward to spending time with our families in another country and relaxing on the beach.
