A Tale of Childhood Friendship Turned Eternal Love: A Wedding in Charlotte, NC

In their hometown, Andrea and Michael’s eyes first locked in a church as children. Reuniting at a basketball tournament in 2007, they exchanged information, and had an immediate connection. Their bond grew as they spent more time together, playing Xbox and sharing laughter. Despite attending college in different places, Andrea and Michael continued to nurture their connection, realizing their feelings had evolved beyond friendship. In 2013, the decision to be together marked the beginning of their love story.

Briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how the both of you felt on your big day.

The day was truly a beautiful whirlwind of events. We didn’t do a first look, so we were both overjoyed to see each other at the ceremony. The moment we locked eyes we were ready to say, “I do.” We both felt nothing but love our entire wedding day. Seeing all of our family and friends who came from near and far to celebrate with us was so touching.

Wedding song, and the significance of the song: “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” by Alicia Keys— That song truly defined us taking the next step in our lives and being ready to see what God had in store for us in the future.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are most looking forward to starting our family, continuing to uplift each other to reach our goals, and making more beautiful memories together.
