Jonathan slid into Brittany’s inbox, but she didn’t reply right away—so he had to get a little creative. Using a bit of reverse psychology (that actually worked), he managed to catch her attention, and Brittany is so glad he did. When they finally met in person, the connection was instant, like they had known each other forever.
Their first date was on August 19, 2017, at Wildfire in Oak Brook, IL, where they talked, laughed, and even recorded a few selfie videos together—Jonathan even kissed her in one! They were already feeling comfortable with each other, and it was clear that something special was beginning. This is where their beautiful journey began.

On August 24, 2024, at Secrets Resorts Cap Cana, Jonathan planned a proposal that felt like something out of a dream. The day was filled with subtle nervous energy — Jonathan kept reciting a speech to himself at random moments, clearly rehearing something important. Later that evening, he told me he needed to run to the reception desk and asked me to stay in our room. Moments later, our suite’s butler knocked on the door and invited me to follow him.
He guided me down a path to the beach, where I found Jonathan waiting with tears already in his eyes. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the oceans as waves kissed the shore. He dropped to one knee, emotions overwhelming him so much that he couldn’t quite get through his speech – but his love was clear.
Without hesitation, I said, “Of course! Yes!” We embraced, surrounded by the beauty of the beach, the moment, and our future unfolding.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
What I’m looking forward to most with my wedding is the moment Jonathan and I lock eyes at the altar, surrounded by all the people who love and support us. After everything we’ve experienced together, it will feel like a full circle moment. We also made sure to hire one of the best DJ’s in Chicago, we are both looking forward to dancing the night away with our favorite people in the world.
