Inspiration

Marissa and Sandy met in Chicago, Illinois when Marissa was a college counselor and Sandy worked for an afterschool program. Weekly, they would connect and talk about the students they worked with. A few years later, the two reconnected in New York when they randomly spotted each other while out and about. This time, they decided to go out together and the rest is history! Engagement story:

For my 30th birthday, we decided to go to Miami with a few friends, and Sandy planned it. We took a boat out on the water during the day, and at one point, Sandy called me over to the front of the boat and proposed and all our friends were there to witness. We then spent the weekend with friends to celebrate my birthday and our engagement. It was the best day ever!

From the Bride:

I felt beautiful. I'm not the type that likes a lot of attention, but selfishly, weddings are the time when you can bring all of your friends and family together. We were so happy to celebrate our love with our friends and family (safely) and felt the love and celebration on the day.

From the Groom:

I can't believe I get to spend the rest of my life with my wife. It was exactly as I imagined, and she is exactly what I wanted.

Your best/most memorable moment:

Honestly, everything. As the bride, I got there early, and my mom and I were spying on our friends and family from a window, and we saw the excitement from everyone. Walking in and seeing the entire setup was so magical.

Wedding song, explain choice for song:

Kiss of Life by Sade - We walked down the aisle to this song because it embodies our love and how we found each other.

Favorite wedding detail (favors, cake, food, band, etc.):

The cake! There is a picture Sabrina took of myself, Sandy, and the cake. It looks great in black and white and just like a picture from the 1950s.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We look forward to growing together and learning more about each other. We've experienced such growth over the last few years, and I'm proud of the people we've become.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish them many years of wedded bliss!
