A Rose Garden Wedding in Richmond, VA

It was a random Friday night in Applebee’s, when Ashley asked Melvin if he could slide down so she and her friends could sit together. Ashley had her back towards Melvin for most of the night, when one of her friends said that he looked familiar and started a conversation. After leaving the restaurant, they all went to a popular nightclub in RVA. By the end of the night, Melvin and Ashley exchanged numbers and the rest is history! Briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how the both of you felt on your big day. Include your most memorable moment.

We both like to dance and for years we talked about how we would enter our reception. When the day finally came, we had nothing! Then “Ape Sh*t” by The Carters came on and we did what we do best, fed off of each other and put on a show. So much so, our guests thought it was rehearsed. That sums us up perfectly!

“XO” by Beyoncé. It’s one of our favorite songs and the lyrics tell a story of how we feel about one another.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Growth and raising a family together.

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Ashley’s advice: Be present and take in the whole day because it goes by quickly. Your memories will last a lifetime.

Melvin’s advice: Don’t stress. Your day will be perfect!
