Classic Glam California Mansion Wedding

Amber and Jean-Claude met through a mutual friend who introduced them not knowing they’d become a future bride and groom. This friend they had in common went to school with Amber and was the roommate of Jean-Claude at the time. He provided each with the other’s phone number. After a few conversations over the phone, the two agreed to go on a blind date for dinner and a movie. The rest is history! This was back in 2007, and they have been together going strong for 11 years. Now they’re ready to take on the world as husband and wife; and to celebrate such an occasion, this lovely pair married at the luxurious Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, California. Check out Amber and Jean-Claude’s sophisticated romance, captured by Ollie Sangalang of A Sight of Love Wedding Photography.

Residence: Pasadena, California

Wedding Date: August 5, 2017

Wedding Location: Greystone Mansion, Beverly Hills, California

Engagement story:

Jean-Claude normally calls Amber at the same time every evening while he is on his lunch break at work. On this particular day, Jean-Claude followed his routine, however, he really was not at work. Amber did not know this, so they spoke as usual. Amber was on the couch at her parent’s house. Amber’s dad was in on the plan, so he pretended that he needed to take the trash out when he was really letting Jean-Claude in through the gates at the back door. Jean-Claude walked in and caught Amber’s attention. Amber was confused because she had just spoken to him on the phone and thought he went back to work. She asked Jean-Claude what he was doing at her parent’s house, not noticing that he was dressed in his Sunday’s best. Jean-Claude then replied, “I’m here to ask you to marry me.”

What makes your love special:

Our love is special because it is easy going and just feels natural. We make sure to appreciate each other for who we are as individuals, but when we come together as a couple, we just seem to gel. Life is more exciting having each other in it.

From the Bride:

On the day of the wedding, I was extremely excited, yet so nervous. I just wanted everything to go as planned and for all of the guests to have a great time. I made sure to take a step back to try and take all of the moments in. In the end, I had a blast and will cherish these memories for the rest of my life.

From the Groom:

August 5, 2017, was the greatest day of my life. My main priority was to make sure my future wife, family and guests had their best time while sharing our specia
l day. I also made it a point to not get caught up in the planning and made sure I had fun!

Your most memorable moment:

The most memorable moment we had on our wedding day was while we danced and saw the joy in everyone’s faces. From the guests to the parents, to the bridal party, to even us, everyone had so much fun.

Wedding song:

Our wedding song was Anthony Hamilton’s “The Point of It All.” We chose this song because the lyrics spoke to the two us and really represented our relationship.

Favorite wedding detail:

our favorite wedding detail was the handheld electric fans we included. Our wedding was in the middle of a heat wave in southern California and was scheduled to take place in the late afternoon–outdoors! We knew our guests were going to be hot! We just wanted to help them out a little bit and tried to make the experience a little bit more comfortable for them. All of the guests were extremely grateful for the gesture and people are still commenting on the fans to this day, saying we thought of everything.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are most looking forward to starting a home and a family together as a couple and just having fun while living life and growing old together.

Advice for a Bride and Groom on their wedding day:

Eat! Even if the two of you have to hide away somewhere that’s separate from your guests, make sure you eat!

Please feel free to include any other interesting anecdotes from your big day:

  1. If you’re having a bar/open bar, make sure you have enough Hennessy! Our guests went through about 14 bottles!
  2. The bride forgot her veil at the hotel where she was getting dressed and had to quickly return to get it before the ceremony.
  3. The groom and one of his groomsmen made the wedding arch that the vows were exchanged under.
  4. The groom’s aunt and uncle and one of their colleagues are a part of a symphony and played the music that accompanied the wedding party walking down the aisle, including “Here Comes the Bride” for the bride and her father.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you many years of wedded bliss!
