Rustic Romance Maryland Styled Shoot

This timeless “Rustic Romance” styled shoot is the perfect bridal inspiration for that modern, yet minimalistic bride and groom-to-be that wishes to balance regal with rural elements. The folks at Tifphany Nichol and Tira Lynn Events wanted couples to be inspired without narrowing their vision to just one style but to instead tip-toe the line of creativity, and craft a vision that is as unique as they are!

Upon entry of the ballroom, the bride is shown in a striking ivory ballgown embossed with a floral motif and an accessorized, dazzling bodice belt. The groom is outfitted in a navy tuxedo, patent leather shoes and a single safari sunset flower for his boutonniere. The atmosphere is set for an intimate reception dinner featuring a wooden barn table, assorted teacup sets, and tea-stained lace runners that fall to the floor. Amidst the lace runners is a eucalyptus garland, adorned with red and blush roses. The centerpieces are photographed high and low, presenting arrangements of garden roses, lush viburnum, and fresh fern. The bridal bouquet, bounded by a silk burgundy ribbon, displays the second sighting of the safari sunset flower, a sign of love and unity between the bride and groom. The lavish velvet draping, crystal tableware, and brass-branch cake stand present an opulent sophistication and a stunning contrast to the pastoral ambiance.

The couple retires to their outdoor lounge area which features a bold merlot settee, old-fashioned suitcases, and up-cycled oil lanterns. The bride is showing off her elegant side in a white, V-neckline gown complete with Italian lace, crystal buttons and a beaded hem applique, paired with teardrop earrings. A naked tiered cake with gold drip and a gorgeous laser cut stationary suite, complete with a custom wax seal that puts the finishing touches on this rustically romantic styled shoot. We can’t get enough of these breathtaking details and we’re sure you’ll love them too. Check out these amazing snapshots, captured by Clapp Studios.

Shoot location: Inn at the Colonnade Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Shoot theme: The theme for this styled shoot was “Rustic Romance,” inspired by the warm colors, navy and merlot, and their ability to transcend seasons. We wanted to take a common rustic theme and elevate it for the couple that desires to blend rural with royal.

Color combinations: Merlot, navy blue, ivory and old golds

Favorite detail: Our favorite detail has to be the custom ball gown.

Decor Details:

Linens:

The only linen photographed in this styled shoot is the tea-stained vintage lace runner used down the center of the dinner table. You can also see it draped over the merlot sofa in some photos.

Centerpiece Description:

For this styled shoot, florals were photographed both high and low. The high florals feature brass candelabras. The centerpieces are composed of fresh garden roses, red hanging amaranthus, viburnum, lemon leaves. The garland down the center of the table has silver dollar leaves adorned with fresh garden roses as well.

Place Settings:

The gold-trimmed glass chargers, navy-trimmed salad plates and gold flatware were provided by Select Event Group. Atop the salad plates are the assorted vintage teacups and saucer sets. Glassware was provided by the planners. Menu and place cards were custom designs.

Stationery:

The stationery suite was a royal and rustic look, with the invitations presented in a floral laser cut gate, which was sealed with a custom wax seal. The floral designs on the invitation and save the date pair with the garden roses in the centerpieces. Menu cards and place cards printed on maroon cardstock add to the richness of the table setting and present a contrast against the wooden table and elegant flatware.

Please share unique details from your shoot:

There are several unique elements featured in this shoot:

Textures: The true beauty of this styled shoot is the combination of various textures. The pipe and draping provided is velvet while other textures photographed include wood, lace, glass, and crystal.

Florals: Another unique detail of this styled shoot is the use of the safari sunset flower. This flower only appears in two places–the bride’s bouquet and the groom’s boutonniere, a symbol of love and unity.

Lighting: My favorite image from the shoot is the silhouette image of the couple with the pink backlighting. The lighting technique performed by Clapp Studios is unique and true to his style of photography.

Cake Stand: The gold branch cake stand is unique to the theme and a true blend of rustic and royal. We were excited when we found this stand because it presented the opportunity to reuse the texture of “wood” in a way other than the barn table.

We can’t get enough of this gorgeous styled shoot. Share your favorite details in the comments below.
