Dairy-Free Treats You’ll Love – Blackbride.com

Chris Rock found it humorous, in one of his popular stand-up routines, that American’s are always jumping up claiming they have food allergies. Rock compared our eating habits to those in African countries, highlighting that no one in Ethiopia is claiming they’re lactose intolerant. As funny as the routine might have been, the truth is most of us are lactose intolerant and simply choose to ignore the symptoms because what is a Friday night without pizza or a hot day without ice cream?

According to a study conducted by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disorders and abbreviated by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, seventy-five percent of all African-Americans, Jewish, Mexican-American, and Native American adults are lactose intolerant. Who’s laughing now Chris Rock?

Lactose intolerance is caused by a lack of enzymes produced in the small intestine, therefore, causing the body to inefficiently break down dairy products. Generally, most people will notice the symptoms immediately in children, but the truth is we are all susceptible to an enzyme deficiency, especially as we get older.

Take a minute right now to do what all doctors tell you not to do…diagnose yourself. Think about the last time you did the happy dance because pizza was on the way, or you sat in front of the television with a big bowl of ice cream, or maybe it was something as simple as a quick run to a coffee shop to get a latte. If these things are a part of your normal routine, you probably ignore the lactose intolerant symptoms. Do you feel nauseas after a bowl of cereal with milk; do you have cramps after grandma’s macaroni and cheese? All signs you are probably lactose intolerant. Indulging in dairy can also lead to bloating, gas, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Of course, the severity of the diary side effects varies depending on how much pizza (or anything else) you consumed, and how much your body can tolerate.

There’s hope for all of us who love yogurt in the morning and ice cream treats in the evening (or any time for that matter). So Delicious Dairy Free products are tasty alternatives to their dairy counterparts. I grew up in a household where my mother always said, “It’s good! It taste just like the real thing.” My brothers and I always rolled our eyes, tasted the food, and decided that our mom had aliens for taste buds…decoys that looked real but weren’t. It is that history that allows me to say with confidence that the yogurt taste like dairy yogurt and has the same consistency. Winning!

If you’re looking for a dairy alternative and skeptical about the reports coming out about soy, So Delicious Dairy Free products can be found in most major grocery store chains. Coconut milk (and water) is a supplement that everyone should be incorporating into their daily routine. So Delicious products are made from coconut milk, more convincing for some who question how milk comes from a soy bean.

Take a look at the dairy products you consume the most and replace some of them a few days a week with So Delicious products. Every morning I have a yogurt with granola on top…I even got my husband to eat it…he likes it!
