Miranda and David Jones have a very special love story. When you read about how they met and found their way back to love, you'll understand what I mean. Some things are destined to be. For this beautiful couple it took a couple of tries to get there, but they finally arrived. Read their moving love story in Miranda's own words below!
The love story…
David and I met in college in 1986. He used to always come on campus, and all the girls on my floor would say that guy is here to see you again. I would always tell them to tell him I’m not here. One day he happened to walk through the door when I was on my way out the door. I couldn't avoid seeing him, our eyes met and he asked me out on a date. I agreed to go out with him, it was the best date I have ever been on, and from there we started dating. Then he graduated and moved to Atlanta and I moved to Texas, the long distance thing wasn't working, he started start seeing other people and so did I.
David and I were great friends and remained in contact with each other. If we went out on dates that didn't work out we would call each other and discuss the date. Thirteen years after we met, he called me and told me he was going to a wedding and I asked who was getting married and if he had a date or was he planning to go by himself. His friends told him they had someone they wanted him to meet and planned to introduce them at the wedding. They thought she was a good match for him and they knew he was ready to settle down. I immediately told him, you can't go by yourself you have to have a date. I wanted to see and meet who they are talking about. It was something about the way it sounded to me this time and I was just starting to learn the Lord for myself. I had been praying for God to send me who He wanted me to have as my husband. So I told him I am going to fly out there and go to the wedding with you. He thought I was kidding and said you are just playing with me. So I called my girlfriend and said we need to need to get tickets to Atlanta ASAP, and she was reluctant because she thought that I just playing and joking around with him as well. I let her know that I was serious so we flew to Atlanta.
I called David when I arrived to Atlanta and he told me to meet him prior to the wedding. I met him and when we both got out of the car it was like a movie. It was like we saw each other for the first time we were so excited to see each other. We ran into each other’s arms as though we never stopped dating. My girlfriend and I met him at the wedding, and once again when our eyes met it was like we knew that it was time. He said if you give me one more chance I don't even want to meet the girl my friends are trying to set me up with. As we were walking into the reception the girl he was suppose meet was walking towards him, and he said he didn't want to meet her. He never ended up meeting her, and 3 weeks later we were married and it’s been the best 13 years of my life. We have been in wedded bliss ever since.
