I created this Bridal Shower with the Bride-to-Be’s original wedding locale in mind. Initially, the couple planned a destination wedding to Jamaica, but as plans changed, so did my thematic for the shower. I wanted to pay homage to the island, but in a very sophisticated and subtle way. As guests entered, I wanted them to feel like they were being transported to another place far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city; a secret hideaway that provided surprise and delight. The venue itself, is like finding a little gem as it’s location is very unassuming. The Bridal Shower featured island and shore motifs and textures in soft and serene tones of blush, nude, champagne, ivory, antique gold with hints of peach. I brought in luscious blooms, iridescent capiz shells and antique metallic to create the centerpieces and corresponding décor.
About the centerpiece :
The table featured several different arrangements including bevel-mirrored vases, Capiz shell hat boxes and patterned silver mercury glass coupes with Cymbidium Orchids, Anemones, Garden Roses, Peonies, and Hydrangeas.
Stationery:
The custom made menus featured a shimmery nude envelopment wrapped in sand colored twine, which mimics the shadow design created by the boards and lighting in the restaurant’s dimly lit cellar hallway. The actual menu which features a vintage garden rose was printed on textured linen paper and highlighted all of the delectable food on the menu. Enclosed was a die-cut note card and coordinating envelope for guests to write down their advice for the soon-to-be Bride.
