Engagement story:
So, we had been studying for a board examination on feb 8th 2011. We had been quizzing each other and I got some answers wrong. Okey was smirking at me/rubbing it in. I wasn’t really in a good mood and was sulking. Then he got a phone call. So I kept going back through the books trying to prove I had the answers right. Next thing I know I feel someone tapping my knee, its Okey kneeling down, looking pretty sheepish, and he says “Dupsy will you please marry me”!
It was the last thing I was expecting. I kept saying “are you freaking kidding me, are you freaking kidding me” then I hugged him and started running around the study table screaming. I actually forgot to say yes. He still teases me today and says I never said yes.
The Proposal From The Groom:
I had been speaking with a friend of mine and had actually planned to propose on feb 14th 2011. It was supposed to be a surprise during dinner at a restaurant in Chicago. On Feb8th, we were studying, she had her nose buried in a book “as usual” and was trying to prove she was right about something. I was standing there staring at her during my phone call and I thought to myself: I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this woman. Needless to say, I ruined the surprise.
What makes your love special?
Our friendship, we say the most ridiculous things to each other and laugh at jokes that only both of us get. We talk, we argue, but we do our best to respect each others opinions always. We are kind to one another, we have fun together and most importantly we pray together. We have something pretty much unconditional going on and it’s a blessing from God.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
Its going to be a dance competition for sure.
