Tiffany and NyJuan met on January 1, 2010 at Lucky Strike, a trendy restaurant and bar with bowling lanes. Tiffany was actually on a group date with another young man when she met NyJuan through a mutual friend. Tiffany remembers their connection being instant. "Something in my spirit told me that this was the man that I was going to marry," said Tiffany. The two hit it off immediately and spent the rest of the night talking at the bar. Engagement story:
We had just finished running in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and had returned to my parents home for the annual cookout. I went downstairs for a nap but NyJuan insisted that I come upstairs. While I was sitting with his parents, I suddenly saw that he had fallen and looked to be hurt seriously. I rushed over to NyJuan's side to make sure he was okay. He seemed to be in a great deal of pain and everyone went into a panic! I yelled for my mother to call 911 and other family members were rushing for ice. As I was holding his hand, while he was on the ground, he transitioned onto one knee! NyJuan wasn't hurt at all! He simply wanted to get everyone's attention so that he could ask me to be his wife! Although I was scared to death that NyJuan was hurt, it was a great proposal!
What makes your love special?
We can’t say that our love is special, but we can say that our love is real. We bring out the best in each other. We’re the yin to each others yang. We don’t complete each other, we simply complement each other.
What was the theme for your engagement shoot?
We had two different themes for our shoot. One was Strike at Love at Lucky Strike, where we met. The next was Ride or Die, because NyJuan is an avid Motorcyclist, and I love riding on the back of his bike with him!
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
Honestly simply marrying him. I don’t care about the food or who’s there or who’s not there. I just want to walk into this next chapter and marry my best friend.
