Bride: Asha Jennings, 29, Attorney

Groom: Bryson Palmer, 28, Hospital Administration

Location: Atlanta, Ga

Wedding Date: 04/17/2011

Honeymoon Destination: Italy

The Engagement Story:
“We had a very busy weekend the weekend that {Bryson} proposed. Saturday night we had a work dinner party to attend and while at the dinner party he asked if he could cook me brunch the next day after church and I said of course. The next morning we went to church and our pastor preached a sermon called “God Surprises.” We were both really touched by the sermon because our pastor basically said when you are on the right path and serving God, He will surprise you with an abundance of blessings. On the way home Bryson asked me what surprises I thought God had in store for us. Not wanting to say what I really wanted to say (marriage), I diverted to talking about the many surprises I thought God had already given us. We went home and began to make brunch: sea bass, caprese salad, salami and cheese. I swore I would not look over at Bryson, but I couldn’t help it. He was cooking the see bass and I saw his hand shaking. After we ate, he said he had dessert and that it was something I had been wanting for a while. He went into the kitchen and acted like he was getting something out of the refrigerator and came over to the table with a covered plate… all the while trying to make me guess what it was. He uncovered the plate and it was an empty ring box. I still had NO idea. He asked me if I knew what went in there and I said a ring. He asked me what kind of ring and after that question I knew because he was so nervous. He stood me up, got down on one knee, and said… Asha Camille… will you marry me? We were both crying and hugging and, of course, I said yes.”

Brides best moment: “Walking down the aisle and seeing the man of my dreams at the end of that aisle.”

Wedding Music: “As for the music, it was very important for us to have all gospel music at the wedding ceremony. While we were making a commitment to each other we wanted to ensure that commitment was made before God. My two favorite songs were “When I Found You” by BeBe Winans, which I walked down the aisle to, and “I Give Myself Away” by William McDowell. For our first dance we chose “So Amazing,” by Luther Vandross. The words were prefect for us – our love is truly amazing.”
