Romantic Styled Shoot In The Beautiful Tuscan Hills

Inspired by the gorgeous Italian backdrop filled with vibrant and deep hues of burgundy, purple and marsala, along with picturesque antique accents, this Tuscan villa style shoot offers a rustic and regal feeling fit for a destination wedding. complemented the villa’s history. From the warm, sun-blessed stones of the Villa Medicea Di Lilliano Wine Estate, this venue tells a story filled with ambition, royalty and change. The eleventh-century lookout tower high on a hill above Florence is the perfect location to survey the city for a romantic night together. Four hundred years of history has shown the tower’s true magnificence after it became the family home to the aristocracy, such as Grand Duke Ferdinando II of the famous Medicis; who continually enlarged the estate and impressed King Frederick IV of Denmark when he visited in 1709! Check out the stunning, natural details of the Villa Medicea Di Lilliano, all of which were captured by Studio Fotografico Bacci.

FMD Events, a New York-based wedding planning and design company, teamed up with a group of local Italian vendors from Florence to bring this beautiful Tuscan hills wedding styled shoot to life. Here is what Funmi Dosunmu of FMD Events had to say about this lush and historically-rich shoot:

“Once I decided I was going to Italy, I knew I wanted to do a styled shoot in the lush Hills of Tuscany. Italy is filled with amazing history, and a historic mansion located on a stunning estate would be the perfect backdrop for the shoot. Once I came across Villa Di Medicea Di Lilliano, I knew this was the place I had to host the shoot. The villa and the grounds are beautiful as is, so it didn’t take much to make it look even more stunning.

The shoot begins with the bride, in a room full of stone and wood, getting her hair and makeup done in before getting into her dress, while her groom-to-be gets ready in another suite. The first look is next, and we used a historic walkway in the villa that featured painted ceilings to capture the excitement. The highlight of the shoot was the circular floral structure that became the backdrop for an exquisite wedding ceremony. It overlooked an ancient fountain and those iconic Tuscan hills. We move on to couple photos, and the sparklers truly added a unique element to the shoot. Our stunning reception table featured low lush florals in hues of burgundy, wine, blush, and lovely laser cut custom menus. We also showcased delicious Malenchini Wine from the villa’s wine estate as it complemented the design so well. We loved the baroque candelabras and cute timepieces which added complexity to the design. Still, we didn’t want to overdo it with florals and decor, as the exquisite view was a showstopper. The cake was the perfect accompaniment to the table, with the beautiful covering floating in the wind. And of course, no wedding is complete without the groom carrying his new bride over the mantle, a sparkling start to their new lives together.”
