Royal Ball California Wedding

LaTasha and Anthony met each other online back in October 2015. Anthony’s profile said “I’m looking for my rib and if you know what that means you may be the one.” LaTasha’s profile said, “He that findth a wife, findth a good thing, who said I cant put myself out there to be found?” With such compatible profiles, it only took a week for the pair to meet for dinner. One year later and Anthony proposed! After two years of extensive planning, LaTasha and Anthony joined together with a royal ball wedding. Check out their special day, captured by A True Love Story Photography.

Engagement story:

The day of the proposal, November 6, 2016, Anthony said he had something to tell me and that he’s been keeping this from me but he couldn’t tell me over the phone. I was scared and nervous. What does this man have to tell me that he hasn’t told me before? I was so scared of what it could be, I cried and told my friend and she started to pray. I was so mad at Anthony because he wouldn’t tell me what is was. So hours later he told me to meet him at my house. I walked in the door and there were candles and roses everywhere and Anthony was standing there waiting. He grabbed my hand and started singing. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I
said yes, cried and then hit him for scaring me like that.

From the Bride:

It was like a fairytale, my dream wedding come true! From the beginning to the end. To start the day off, Anthony had the butler deliver gifts every 30 minutes to my
bridal suite with beautiful cards. The one that made me cry the most was when the butler brought me a rib on ice, atop of a silver tray
with a beautiful hand written card saying, “Today I get to marry my Rib” and a bouquet of flowers.

When I arrived at St John’s Cathedral, the trumpet player played the “Royal Entrance Fanfare” just before I entered. When the double doors opened and I saw how beautiful the church was and the 400+ people, I was overwhelmed with joy! When I started to walk down the aisle Anthony started singing “You and I” by Stevie Wonder and I couldn’t help but cry. I think everyone cried. It was simply beautiful. The church was electrified by our love as we were now husband and wife.

When we arrived to the reception, the fairytale continued. I remember pulling up to the reception venue and saying I felt like a celebrity, All of these people were here for us. We walked in to the loudest applause and we started our first dance with low fog surrounding us like we were dancing on a cloud. At the end of the dance, fireworks erupted and it was absolutely beautiful as we looked in each others eyes and danced the night away. I felt like it was my dream wedding with the man of my dreams.

From the Groom:

I remember when they opened the doors and Tasha walked down the aisle while I sang to her. That was my favorite moment. I was nervous because I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I also remember walking into the church and reception thinking, “wow, my wife did a beautiful job coordinating and designing her own wedding!”

What makes your love special?

The immediate connection we had. We knew god brought us together. We had so many connections and even knew a lot of the same people. My family and friends knew his family and friends, and we were able to vouch our personalities because we knew the same people. He was the man of my prayers and I was the women of his dreams.

Your most memorable moment:

When Anthony sang to me as I walked down the aisle. The fireworks going off during our first dance is a close second.

Wedding song:

Our wedding song was “You and I” by Stevie Wonder. This was the song Anthony sang to me while we were dating, so of course he picked it for our wedding day.

Favorite wedding detail:

We loved the flower trees going down the aisle at the cathedral, the fireworks during our first dance, our 6-tiered cake and mostly the energy our guest had. It was priceless. They were filled with excitement and love for us.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We’re looking forward to creating memories, traditions and traveling the world together. I feel like Anthony and I can conquer the world together and do something great for god. We want to continue to be a good example that true love still exists.

Advice for a Bride and Groom on their wedding day:

Enjoy every moment! Take it in, be present. Let go of all of the stress to make everything perfect and remember the purpose is to focus on each other and the love.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you many years of wedded bliss.
