Paige and Eddie were introduced to each other by a mutual friend in a quaint Oakland restaurant. Paige was looking forward to meeting him but when she did, she could not get past his outfit of choice. He had on what she deemed an “uncle” outfit (a sweater, collared shirt and slacks). Any thought of him becoming more than a friend was dismissed at that point for her. Over time though, things would change as the two would hang out and eventually became close friends. One day, Eddie channeled his inner Leo and made his move, and Paige began to feel an attraction to him she never felt before. This was just the beginning of their beautiful love story! In September of 2018, Paige and Eddie purchased their first home! To celebrate, Eddie planned a housewarming party. Paige wanted to wait until the house was perfect, but Eddie’s plan won because time was of the essence. Paige was unsure if her friends and family would attend, but nearly 70 people arrived from L.A., Bay Area, D.C. and beyond. What Paige did not know was that Eddie’s master plan was to propose. After five years and eleven months, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife!
What makes your love special?
We are truly best friends and not only do we love each other deeply, we like each other. We have a solid foundation.
From the Bride:
Our wedding weekend was everything I could have asked for. We wanted things to feel very intimate and chill, and it was just that. In the moments where I felt anxious, I was surrounded by all the people that keep me calm. I was so excited to finally be marrying my best friend after seven years!
From the Groom:
Our wedding was fun! Besides the moment where I tried to kiss my soon-to-be wife before I was supposed to, everything was smooth. Seeing our friends and family co-mingle and celebrate us made our union something to behold.
Your best/most memorable moment:
Watching 100 people hit the “swag and surf” in the middle of the reception, especially the groom’s mother.
Wedding song, explain choice for song:
We thought through all of our wedding songs and made sure each of them described us and our love for each other. Eddie walked out to “Love U 4 Life” by Jodeci; the wedding party walked out to “Happily Ever After” by Case; Paige walked out to “Dangerously In Love” by Beyonce and we exited to “Fool For You” by CeeLo Green & Melanie Fiona. We entered our reception to “March Madness” by Future and our first dance was to “Perfect Duet” by Ed Sheeran and Beyonce.
Favorite wedding detail:
We loved so many things! Our florals were amazing. The bar held it down and our signature drinks were great! The food was amazing – we served cocktail style for the entire reception. Our venue was perfect for us!
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
We can’t wait to build our fortress and life together. We hope to be blessed with a little one, raise an amazing human, and nurture our family.
Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:
Do you. Making decisions as a couple first vs looking for advice from others really helps the day become what YOU want. Also, seriously don’t sweat the small details. They don’t matter in the end.
Congratulations to this happy couple!
We wish you many years of wedded bliss!
