Love and Style: An Engagement Session in Miami, FL

When Azundra and Keith went to a nightclub four years ago in Houston, Texas they had no idea they were about to meet their forever loves. Azundra shares more about what happened that night in January of 2018:

“Keith was there with a few of his friends, and he stood out to me. When I approached him and asked to smoke his hookah, he was very nice in letting me do so. It was then that he looked at me and mentioned that he was pleasantly surprised that I spoke to him since he had been following me (checking me out) for a while on IG.”

After exchanging direct messages on IG, the two became good friends. They decided to make things official on August 28, 2019 and they have been together ever since! See more from their stylish Miami engagement session captured by Reem Photography.

Engagement story

January 26, 2021, I remember it like it was yesterday. We decided we would have date night, but something was different about this day. We started at the mall because he wanted to buy me something nice to wear. I kept gravitating towards this white dress that we saw at Eye Candy Couture located in the Galleria. I put this dress on and it was perfect. While we’re at the register he proceeds to pick out a bracelet for me to compliment my dress.

A quick backstory: Whenever we would have talks about taking the next step in our relationship Keith would always say, “Before you get a ring I will gift you with 3 things, earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet.” Little did I know this was it!

Later that day, Keith and our son Ayden, dropped me off to get my makeup done and I remember telling the makeup artist that I felt good about our date tonight. We got dressed and headed down to the lobby of our residence. As I turned the corner, to my surprise, my entire family, his entire family, and all our friends were just standing there. I was in disbelief. I laughed hysterically which turned into a loud cry followed by me pushing him so hard that he actually lost a little balance. My soulmate was asking me to marry him! How could I not say YES! The most memorable moment of the night was him telling me he doesn’t see his life without me in it and asking me to marry him. On top of that the RING, was everything. To be able to share that moment with him, our son, and our family was such a blessing.

For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day

I had been wanting to propose to Azundra for months before I did, but around that time we were traveling a lot for work, and I never had the time to go ring shopping. In January of 2021, we were in town for a while and I saw it as the perfect opportunity to finally go ring shopping. My very close friend Gerald’s birthday was coming up on January 26th and I thought it was the perfect day to propose to her. Since her and I are together 24/7 it was the perfect excuse to break away from her to pick out a ring.

The jeweler who designed the ring said that it would be ready in enough time. She has family members in her home state of Louisiana who are very important to her and I knew they couldn’t miss this moment. Although I didn’t grant enough time for them to make arrangements to come, I couldn’t risk anyone slipping up and telling her what I was up to. So, I sent out a mass text two days before the proposal informing all of our loved ones that it was time. Fast forward to January 26th, and every single person that I texted just 2 days before was there. We’re very thankful for the loved ones we have in our lives that helped to make that day so special.

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?

For starters, we were greeted by the coolest photographer, Reem. He had good vibes and great energy. We knocked out the first part of our shoot at Epic Hotel in about 20 minutes believe it or not. I remember everything being so effortless and fun. I also will never forget us having to rush to the second shoot because the yacht had been waiting for us to arrive, and we only had so much time with Reem for our shoot. We hopped in the car with him and along the way we had great conversations, it was as if we’d known him for years. The thing I remembered most was the way Keith looked into my eyes as if nothing else in the world mattered.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

There are so many things I am looking forward to when it comes to my wedding but what I look forward to the most is saying “I DO”. I’m getting butterflies just thinking about it. Becoming Mrs. Denson will be the ultimate high, and to think this is only the beginning has me more excited than ever.
