Classic Romance: An Engagement Session at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France

Diana and Raony had crossed paths multiple times without ever officially meeting, until June of 2018. That’s when they found themselves sitting next to each other at Raony’s best friend’s birthday party. Later, their friends revealed Raony had asked everyone to move to other seats so they could sit together because he was initially seated at the end of the table. The two spent that evening talking and laughing, and now after five years of being a couple they are preparing to become Mr. and Mrs.

Engagement Story

We have a ritual on each of my birthdays, before celebrating with our friends, the two of us will go out to dinner. We were at Kong, one of my favorite restaurants, when he asked me to marry him.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

We both have very rich social lives, and we’re looking forward to bringing our families together. I come from a Yoruba family very attached to its roots. I left my country Benin at a very early age, grew up in France and studied in different cities, so I have different groups of friends who, like me, are French and Yoruba ahaha. That’s nothing compared to my future husband, who has lived in 7 different countries, so he’s also evolved within different groups. We think this melting pot of people is the main asset of our union. It’s pretty rare, a marriage between a Yoruba woman and a Bissau Guinean-Cape Verdean.
