A Stunningly Chic Wedding in Louisiana

Alexis and Nehemiah would see each other in passing in high school and had occasional conversations but it never led to anything more.  Fast forward a few years and the two were both participants in a mutual friend’s wedding.  After the wedding, Alexis’ best friend and her friend’s husband called her to convince her to give Nehemiah a chance and to ask if they could give him her number.  Alexis agreed and that same evening, Nehemiah sent her a text which led to a phone conversation that lasted for hours!  Their chemistry was undeniable and the couple have been together ever since.  Check out their gorgeous Louisiana wedding day captured by Dorthy Ray of Cseli Photography Agency.

Engagement story

What Alexis thought was a planned housewarming with family and friends to celebrate their new home, turned out to be a surprise engagement proposal. Nehemiah planned an entire spa day for while he prepared the home for a proposal. He incorporated everything that she loves for near their backyard lake including: roses, fireworks, and lanterns. The night was magical!

What makes your love special?

We were genuinely best friends before lovers. We can talk to each other about everything. To know that our love is so genuine and unique makes it beyond special.

From the Bride:

We experienced many drastic changes due to the pandemic. We ended up having to book a new venue 72 hours before the wedding and changed our complete wedding design 48 hours before. All of our traditional plans and events (Engagement Photos, Bridal Shower, Bachelorette, Honeymoon) were cancelled and also forced us to condense our entire wedding day to an extremely intimate wedding. I was so excited to see the decor and my man smiling at the altar that the fire alarm going off just as I was headed down the aisle didn’t matter so much. I must say, with all of the unexpected changes we faced it led to the most amazing day of our lives.

From the Groom:

With the pandemic happening, the vendor that I was using for my tux closed so, I had to re-order everything from a new vendor two weeks prior. I was both nervous and excited on the day of the wedding. I ran errands all day and picked up a few small gifts to make sure that her day went smoothly. I felt a natural high seeing my bride coming down the aisle.

Your best/most memorable moment:

We literally danced the whole night and forgot to cut the cake. The entire wedding day was beyond memorable for us, but the dancing was by far the best moment of the night.

The flower wall was our favorite!

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Everlasting  joy and divine prosperity.

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Don’t panic! Things might happen on your wedding day, but put God first in all things and enjoy every moment of your special day. Also, don’t forget to make a checklist.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you a fruitful marriage and many years of wedded bliss!
