We are especially excited to share the love story of April and Darryl. The couple met through a mutual friend in 2010 and were inseparable ever since their first date at a local sports bar. In no time, talks of marriage led to planning a wedding. During the couples first visit to a bridal show together, April placed her name on a raffle ticket and won a $2,500 Allure Bridals wedding gown at BlackBride’s 2012 Annual Bridal Show! Engagement Story: On a warm and lovely morning in the summer of 2011, the day began with love. The two love birds spent the day together enjoying each others company. Darryl popped the BIG question and April said YES! Months later, on a cool Sunday morning in December 2011, Darryl and April went on a day of Christmas shopping. After checking out a few stores for the kids and buying presents the exhausted couple went home to rest. Darryl told April to report to their room and he got on his knees beside the bed and popped the question a second time. It left April speechless as he professed his undying love for her. April, of course, said YES and he upgraded her engagement ring!
From the Bride: “I had the wedding of my dreams – from beginning to end. Winning my bridal gown from Black Bride was the best gift I could have ever asked for. I felt like a Queen on my wedding day!”
Best moment: “When our daughters told Darryl how much they love him and are happy to have him as a step-dad. Everyone teared up during the ceremony toast.”
Favorite wedding detail : The Grooms cake, which was designed to look like a big screen TV.
Wedding song: The Original Wedding Song by JustPatrick09 on YouTube. The words to the song were very heart felt and gave our love and marriage true meaning.
From the Groom: “Marrying my soul mate was the ultimate blessing I could have ever asked for. I thank God for sending me a wonderful, beautiful wife.”
