A Stunningly Romantic Anniversary Session in Dallas, TX

Victoria and Cedric met in college in the fall of 2008. While working as a hall counselor for one of the female dorms, Victoria became friends with two of Cedric’s cousins. Later on in the semester, Cedric and Victoria met during her birthday party and the two instantly clicked. How did you know your partner was the one?

When it’s the right person, you just know and feel it in your heart. Being confined to the house during the pandemic I realized that I can live with her everyday. However, seeing so many people pass during the pandemic, I’ve also realized that she’s the one person I can’t live without.

Engagement story (please tell us the story of your engagement proposal):

This was the easy part for me. She definitely never saw it coming because I never spoke about marriage much. I waited until her birthday celebration when friends and family would be there.

Your best/most memorable moment as a married couple so far :

Our trip to Vegas last year is one of the first and best memories as a married couple. We were able to step away from our normal day to day hustle and bustle and just be a companion to one another. We lounged, explored, and experienced first-time activities together.

What’s the best advice you received about marriage that you actually use?

Do what works for you both as a couple. Everyone’s relationship is different and there’s no one foolproof formula for a successful marriage. Aside from that, making communication/comprehension and empathy a part of every decision we make is key for us.
