Jade and Darrell’s love story began on Twitter on December 6, 2021, when Darrell responded to one of Jade’s tweets and soon after slid into her DMs. After exchanging numbers, they spent the next three months getting to know each other through daily FaceTime and phone calls. At the time, Darrell was in Dallas, Texas training for the NFL, while Jade was pursuing her master’s degree in health administration in Tampa, Florida.
On March 3, 2022, Jade flew to Dallas to finally meet Darrell in person. Just three days later, on March 6, he asked her to be his girlfriend. They’ve been inseparable ever since—and are now celebrating over three years of love and commitment.

Briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how the both of you felt on your big day.
We decided to have a microwedding with just 35 guests, and only those invited knew about it ahead of time. We announced it to everyone else later on social media, which made it feel extra special and intimate. Planning was truly a breeze because I gave my wedding planner full control over everything. We even found our venue on TikTok and didn’t see it in person until the day before the wedding—that’s how much we trusted her with our vision.
Because the day was so small and personal, it felt completely stress-free. We didn’t have a bridal party or rehearsals; it was just us, surrounded by our closest family and friends. We shared a first look that felt like such a “wow” moment—the kind where you can’t believe it’s really happening. We were both so ready to officially become one before God.
What stood out most were our vows. It’s surreal to know someone loves you, but to hear them craft and speak that love in such beautiful words is something we’ll never forget. It was simple, beautiful, and full of love—truly one of the best days of our lives.
Wedding song, and the significance of the song:
Our wedding songs were deeply personal. I walked down the aisle to Why I Love You by Major—the lyrics perfectly captured how I felt about my husband. I had always said that when a man made me feel the way that song describes, I’d know he was the one. His song was Differences by Ginuwine, which reflected how he felt about me. From the start, he said he knew I was the woman he would marry, and that song spoke to that. During the ceremony, the instrumental versions of both songs were beautifully played by our violinist.
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
We are most looking forward to continuing to build a life together, growing through the highs and lows, and choosing each other every single day. We are excited about expanding our family, creating lasting memories, and building a future that reflects our love and the values we share. More than anything, we look forward to growing together and creating a life we can both be proud of.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish them a lifetime of wedded bliss.
