NFL quarterback Jalen Hurts is winning on and off the field. The Philadelphia Eagles player proposed to his college sweetheart Bryonna Burrows earlier this year. After Burrows was seen wearing a ring on her left hand at the Eagles season opener, she and Hurts confirmed their engagement to Essence.

Three years after going public with their relationship, comedy legends Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence’s children got engaged! Eric Murphy proposed to Jasmin Lawrence on Nov. 27, and in an Instagram post shared on both of their accounts, Jasmin wrote, “God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter. Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so beautiful!!”

Singer Ashanti and rapper Nelly had a very eventful 2024. After first meeting at a 2003 Grammy nomination news conference and dating for a number of years, the two rekindled their relationship in 2021. In April 2024, Ashanti and Nelly announced their engagement and that they were expecting their first child together.

Congratulations are in order for ‘P-Valley’ actors Miracle Watts and Tyler Lepley who began dating in 2021 and welcomed a son together in September 2022. The two took to social media to announce their engagement by posting pictures of the proposal with a simple ring emoji as the caption.

Actress Meagan Good and actor Jonathan Majors announced their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala on Nov. 17th while the bride-to-be flashed her ring for the cameras. The two met in 2022 and became an official couple in May 2023.

Olympian sprinter Noah Lyles popped the question to his girlfriend, fellow Olympian athlete Junelle Bromfield. In a video shared on Lyles’ Instagram account, the “fastest man in the world” got down on one knee in front of family and friends, and a neon sign that read, “Will you marry me?”
