Engagement story: Since we were dating long distance, we planned a trip to San Antonio, TX for the Fourth of July weekend. He told me we had dinner plans the night we arrived, and he has great taste in food, so I was looking forward to it. We got dressed and drove 30 mins to a part of Texas I did not know and I looked to the right and yelled, “A winery!” (one of my favorite places) and came to find out that’s where we were going.

We went in, had dinner and then it was time for dessert. The waitress told us dessert had to be eaten outside, that confused me, but I went along with it. We walked down to the vineyard following the waitress and came across a table in the middle of the field decorated with lights and flowers, something right out of a movie. The waitress offered to take a picture of us, he dropped to his knees with tears in his eyes asking me to be his wife. I was in awe.

For the Groom: Walk us through the behind the scenes of creating this special day: Well the day didn’t start off on a good note. As I was getting ready to board my flight Linita told me they had canceled hers and she wasn’t guaranteed to be able to make the next flight leaving. If she couldn’t make the next flight she wouldn’t be able to get to San Antonio until late that evening. I had this entire plan coordinated with the winery plus a specially decorated table set for that day and wasn’t able to move the date or the time. So for my entire flight I was scrambling trying to come up with a plan B that would still be as romantic as the night I had originally planned.

Luckily,  I found out when I landed she was going to be able to make it in time. As we got ready to leave for dinner my next issue was figuring out where I was going to hide this ring without making it obvious. I couldn’t put it in my pocket because of the bulge and it definitely couldn’t fit inside my shoe – the next best option? Put it inside my pants and hope my shirt covers it enough to not be seen. So I spent the next 2 hours riding to the restaurant and eating dinner literally with a ring box inside my pants. Not the most comfortable evening but everything was worth it because the night ended up going perfectly according to plan.

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot? Just enjoying each other, David is not a picture taker at all but he knew how important this shoot was. It was a two hour session and he did not complain one time! Plus he hates being the center of attention, I think he looks better than me.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding? Celebrating with our families and friends and witnessing the first day our family will become ONE. We will not take one moment for granted because we cherish those who are still on earth with us and realize this may be the only day we will have all those individuals in one room.
