Engagement story
Brian’s goal for the proposal was to surprise me and he did. He proposed to me on December 20, 2024 right before Christmas and my birthday which is my favorite time of the year. We traveled from Atlanta to Blue Ridge, Georgia for a weekend staycation and stayed in a cozy cabin in the mountains. Within two hours after our arrival at the cabin, Brian dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him inside the cabin. I was shocked and surprised and so happy that I started to cry, and I said yes. What I thought was going to be a regular weekend away turned into our engagement weekend and it was perfect.
Since we met in New York City, the city that Brian loves, we thought it would be cool to return this year and do our engagement photoshoot there as another way to celebrate this full circle moment, our five year anniversary, and our upcoming wedding. The black and white wedding theme allowed us to get glammed up and imagine what it would look and feel like to marry each other this year. I wanted it to look like we had just gotten married. During our photoshoot, people walking and jogging in Brooklyn Bridge Park said congratulations to us. It made the entire day for us.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
I’m looking forward to spending the rest of my life with Brian and starting a family. My twin sister had her first child last year, a beautiful boy named Antar and now she’s pregnant again with a girl. It’s been amazing to watch her family grow. I’m excited to be able to continue planning and imagine what our lives will look like with children entering the picture after we are married. Our wedding will only last a day, but our marriage will last a lifetime. Of course I’m looking forward to our wedding day which will be fun and beautiful, but I will not make the mistake of putting more importance on the wedding day than the marriage. Brian and I plan to undergo pre-marital counseling to ensure we are both prepared for this next phase of our lives together and to make sure we are prepared to be together for life.

Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish them a lifetime of wedded bliss.
