A Classic Romantic Wedding in Lake Mary, FL

Jacques and Candiss met in 2014 through mutual friends who invited them to a step show. At the time, Jacques lived in Orlando and Candiss was a month away from moving back to Miami, Florida. Although their initial meeting was brief, as they left the show, Candiss invited Jacques to her going away gathering a month later. Jacques was concerned about her long drive home after the party so he asked her for her phone number, offering to keep her awake as she drove. That night, Jacques and Candiss had a great conversation which would spark the beginning of their beautiful love story.  Share in their joyous affair captured by Legacy of Love Weddings

In 2018, Jacques was searching for the perfect opportunity to pop the big question. Jacques’ alma mater B-CU (BethuneCookman University) and Candiss’ dad’s alma mater were playing each other in the John Merrit Classic in Nashville, Tennessee. Knowing that this was the city where Candiss’ parents met and got married, Jacques decided to take Candiss to the same spot where her father proposed to her mother, and as you know, she said YES!

What makes your love special?

What makes our love special is that we started out as friends and through the years we’ve turned into best friends. Also, after our relationship started, we discovered they we had individually entered into a fast prior to dating each other, allowing the Lord to prepare us for the blessing He had in store.

From the Bride:

Our wedding day is a day I will never forget! I kept asking myself if I was dreaming the morning of, and was surprised by how anxious I was to get down the aisle and marry my fiancé. I was so ready for my husband. I felt so blessed to have family and friends around to witness me marry the love of my life.

From the Groom:

Our wedding day was awesome! Throughout the day, I constantly found myself saying “This is the best day of my life.” When I saw Candiss turn that corner and begin to walk down the aisle, the world stopped for a few seconds, and tears of joy ran down my face.

Your best/most memorable moment:

Bride: The moment after the ceremony when Jacques held my hand and said “Babe we’re married!”

Groom: The moment I saw Candiss in her wedding dress

Wedding song, explain choice for song:

“You for Me” by Johnny Gill; the lyrics of this song speak to our story.
