A Magical Storybook Wedding at San Francisco City Hall

Jasmine and Johnny first met in 1999 when they were just 14 years old at a Jack and Jill party. After high school, life’s twists took them to different colleges and they lost touch. Johnny found Jasmine on a dating app years later and the two reconnected.

Jasmine shares more about their love story: “Despite the challenges of living in different cities, we could not deny what we had. Fast forward to 2018, Johnny moved back to Los Angeles on a mission to win me back. The pandemic in 2020 gave us unexpected time together, and that is when we realized that we never wanted to be apart again.”

Their engagement took place during a special date night out at a concert featuring R&B singer H.E.R. The night came with a surprise proposal and the song titled “Best Part” by H.E.R, which Johnny worked hard to coordinate and specifically had the song dedicated to Jasmine during H.E.R’s performance. Jasmine said, “Yes” and the rest is history!

Jasmine and Johnny said their vows this past June of 2023 at the San Francisco City Hall in San Francisco, California. See more from their magical walk down the aisle, captured by Ron and Trinity Studios and event planning by Sheree Amour Weddings & Event Planning.

Briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how the both of you felt on your big day.

The wedding was a dream come true and more perfect than we ever imagined. It seemed like time stood still. We celebrated our love surrounded by all of our nearest and dearest friends and family members. It felt like a royal garden straight out of a storybook. It all started with the venue hunt, which led us to San Francisco City Hall thanks to a last-minute detour on a family trip.

Wedding song, and the significance of the song:

We chose the song “Spend My Life With You” by Eric Benet and Tamia because this song was the soundtrack to our high school dates and holds the feelings we’ve had since we first fell for each other in 1999. When we looked into each other’s eyes, we both knew we would be each other’s first love and spend our lives together.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

It’s the simple joys that we’re most excited about, such as the everyday moments with each other as best friends. We are looking forward to building our already growing little family,(and yes we are expecting) experiencing the world through shared adventures, and creating a lifetime of memories. It’s not just about growing old together but growing together in love.
