A Sunday Brunch Wedding in St. Louis, MO

Katelyn and Markell met in 2012 while attending college at MIZZOU (University of Missouri – Columbia). Katelyn’s roommate at the time, was friend with Markell and introduced her to him. He would often swing by to hang out with Katelyn’s friend, but that soon shifted to him coming to hang out with her instead. The two began dating in 2013 and have been together ever since!

Wedding theme/motif/inspiration: Sunday’s Best, clean, and timeless are all words we used to describe our wedding. We wanted it to feel like a beautiful Sunday brunch.

Honeymoon Destination: We traveled to several cities post wedding – Chicago, IL; Seattle, WA; Miami, FL; and Phoenix, AZ

Briefly tell us about your wedding experience and how the both of you felt on your big day. Include your most memorable moment.

We felt a bit anxious to see our day come to fruition but we both felt so much better after seeing each other during our first look. For us, that was the most memorable moment, having that intimate time with one another to take it all in and share a special moment of reflection prior to walking down the aisle. It was the most perfect part of our day!

Wedding song, explain choice for song:

“This Is Why I Love You” by Major. The lyrics of this song really spoke to our relationship and how much we care for each other. It felt like it spoke to our commitment to always be there, support,  care for one another, and always be committed to accepting each other just the way we are.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are excited to experience life’s happy moments & challenges and celebrate each other’s wins and milestones! We are excited to grow together, start a family, and travel the world!

Advice for a Bride/Groom on their wedding day:

Take the time to enjoy every moment – it truly will be the best day of your life and it will go by so quickly! It is so worth it to take it all in. We definitely recommend having a first look together and at your reception space. It is so wonderful to see your person and have a special moment with them as well as see what you’ve worked so hard on for so long, come to life! Finally, remember that it is YOUR day so make it what you both want. There are no rules with weddings, it can be as unique to you as you want.
