A Toast to Love: An Engagement Session in Atlanta, GA

If you ask Trey and Dee how they met, their stories will definitely differ, but they both believe it’s safe to say that they met through a mutual friend who was secretly plotting to set both of them up with one another. They officially crossed paths at Bethune-Cookman University in 2011, and officially became a couple at the top of the year in 2012 and have been on a love journey together ever since. They hold many titles for each other but ten years later from their initial commitment to each other they will call each other husband and wife.

Tremaine’s initial impression of Deandrea is that she was super sweet and a true southern belle. Very soft spoken, but really honest and about her business. Deandrea’s first impression of Tremaine was that he was tall, dark and handsome, the ultimate jokester ( which is opposite of her) and that he naturally consumed the energy and attention of every room he walked into. She knew he was the one when her late Grandmother met him and immediately afterwards called her and expressed her love for him. Engagement story

In June 2021, Tremaine and Deandrea traveled to Tulum, Mexico after being trapped in the states for almost a year due to COVID. Both of them had been working extremely hard and Deandrea expressed the need to Tremaine that she needed to get away without a computer in sight. Unbeknownst to her, he had already been speaking with her aunt who is a travel agent about planning a vacation and secret proposal.

On the 2nd night of their stay, Trey mentioned to her that they had dinner reservations and that they couldn’t be late. As  they were getting dressed, Tremaine mentioned a photographer came with the reservations so  he encouraged her to match with him. The closer we got to the restaurant , the more she noticed that they were about to be on the beach and as soon as she saw sand, she opted to take her heels off all together. The photographer arrived and was going from cabana to cabana snapping pictures of each couple who was having a private dinner so, she really didn’t think much of it. The photographer just started snapping away and then for a particular moment he started only taking pictures of Deandrea.

As Trey always does, he backed up behind the photographer and started snapping pictures of her as well. Little did she know he was sending them to both of their family and friends letting them know it’s about to go down. She’s still posing and then the photographer prompts her to turn around and there he was on one knee professing his love for her. She ugly cried and admitted later that she was just relieved that it finally happened.

Were there any memorable moments during the shoot?

We love doing staycations at different boutique hotels around Atlanta. Hotel Clermont has become one of our favorite places to just relax and spend quality time together. It was a no-brainer that we wanted to shoot there to help set the vibes for our big day. In addition, we also desired to have an engagement session that was a better reflection of us in our natural element. (Just Living, loving on each other and laughing at each other’s jokes).

One of the most memorable moments during the session was just us being in the moment as if no one else was in the room. Living in our moment was truly captured by Eric from @jordanviision and the final images told our story of how we are everyday when no one else is looking.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

We’re both just looking forward to making it official. We’ve been dating since college and our journey was not traditional at all, but we’re happy that in the end we chose each other and have the opportunity to celebrate with our family and friends. On the day people typically set goals and do superstitious things to celebrate a new year we will be saying I do. It’s the perfect start to a new beginning.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
